'The Big Sick' & 'Beatriz at Dinner' Score Two Indie Spirit Award Nominations Each

It's officially awards season. This week the Independent Spirits Awards rolled out their list of nominees, and we are over the moon to have not one, but two FilmNation films nominated.

Miguel Arteta's timely dark comedy 'Beatriz at Dinner' starring Salma Hayek received two nominations. Writer Mike White received a nomination for Best Screenplay and Salma Hayek received a nomination for Best Female Lead.

'The Big Sick' also nabbed two nominations. Emily V. Gordon and Kumail Nanjiani were nominated for Best First Screenplay and Holly Hunter was nominated for Best Supporting Female.

We're also thrilled to see Dee Rees and the team on Mudbound earn the Robert Altman Award for ensemble cast. She'll be teaming up with Carey Mulligan again for FilmNation production 'An Uncivil War.'

The Independent Spirit Awards take place Sunday, March 3, 2018.
