Suspiria World Premiere at the 75th Venice Film Festival

The Venice Film Festival has officially announced their slate of films for their 75th edition, which includes the world premiere of Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria playing in competition.

Described as an homage 1977 classic from Dario Argento, Suspiria  has already garnered buzz after Amazon's CinemaCon presentation in April. The film stars Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton, who both previously worked with the visionary filmmaker in A Bigger Splash.

Every movie I make is a step inside my teenage dreams, and “Suspiria” is the most remarkably precise teenage megalomanic dream I could ever had
— Director Luca Guadagnino, The Guardian
[Suspiria] is inspired by the same story, but it goes in different directions, it explores other reasons…I think people really have to understand that this is not a remake, because the word “remake” gives the impression that we want to erase the original, and the opposite is what we try to do
— Tilda Swinton, Allocine

Suspiria // USA ( Director: Luca Guadagnino, Cast: Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, Chloe Grace Moretz ) - A darkness swirls at the center of a world-renowned dance company, one that will engulf the troupe's artistic director, an ambitious young dancer and a grieving psychotherapist. Some will succumb to the nightmare -- others will finally wake up.
