Legal Administrator, Business and Legal Affairs

 

FilmNation Entertainment is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our New York office full-time as an administrative assistant to the Business and Legal Affairs Department. At FilmNation, the Business and Legal Affairs team handles all of the legal work involved in the company’s development, production, financing, and distribution of high-quality feature films, television, podcasts, and live theatre.

This role will be responsible for a full range of administrative tasks but will also be provided significant opportunities to become involved in more substantive work. The Legal Administrator to The Business and Legal Affairs Department’s primary responsibilities will include managing FilmNation's contract database, working with FilmNation's Finance team to coordinate invoicing and payment schedules, drafting contract summaries, preparing and filing various corporate documents, and coordinating the full execution and dissemination of a variety of documents.

 

Specifically, the Assistant will be required to handle the following tasks:

    •    Update FilmNation’s international sales in a database called iRights. 

    •    Coordinate the invoicing of minimum guarantees for executed contracts. 

    •    Form corporations, file copyright applications, order copyright reports, and handle other corporate work. 

    •    Create contract summaries for both international distribution deals and FilmNation productions. 

 

Qualifications / Requirements:

    •    At least one year of experience at an entertainment company in a corporate setting (internships are acceptable)

    •    Detail-oriented, analytical, and results-driven.

    •    An ability to perform well under pressure and excellent project management skills.

    •    A strong work ethic, a passion for film, television & all things FilmNation

This position's anticipated annual base salary is $59,000-$61,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or benefits for which an individual may be eligible. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
