FilmNation’s Marketing, Publicity and Distribution team is looking for a Full Time Manager, Publicity to join the team in their NY Office.
FilmNation Entertainment is a leading independent entertainment company that produces, finances and distributes award-winning films, television series, podcasts and theater productions that combine strong creative voices and global appeal. FilmNation is also the home of Infrared, a new film production label focused on films with franchise potential. The company produced award-winning box office hits that include PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN, ARRIVAL, and THE BIG SICK, as well as the award-winning television show I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE. Coming soon are Sean Baker’s 2024 Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winner ANORA and Edward Berger’s CONCLAVE.
Role Description:
The manager of publicity will report to the VP, Publicity. The manager will also collaborate with internal departments including production, sales, delivery, legal and finance. This role is in office Monday-Thursday, Fridays are remote.
What you'll do:
- All Publicity Department admin work including but not limited to: accounting, ticket management, RSVP management, scheduling meetings
- Assist with publicity material creation during production including unit photography, EPK, etc.
- Work closely with international distributors to share publicity updates
- Work with talent reps and international distributors to facilitate talent interviews on films without PR agencies on board
- Manage film festival requests
- Assist with film festival submissions and logistics
- Proof and edit key publicity assets such as production notes, EPKs, generic interviews to ensure content matches strategic positioning
- Collate and distribute press coverage to filmmakers as needed
- Work with multiple PR agencies to coordinate talent tours, set visits and press junkets
- Write and edit press releases
- Help to maintain and update corporate publicity documents
- Maintain FilmNation website’s media section with Marketing Team
- Assist with communications on FilmNation’s distributor facing platform
- Create and maintain internal systems for managing publicity assets
- Forward plan to ensure we have publicity deliverables in timely fashion
- Responsible for relationship with finance department (budget tracking and invoicing)
- Some travel required (supporting VP at int’l film festivals and press events)
What you'll do:
- 3 years+ of working in a publicity environment (international publicity experience a plus)
- Bachelor’s Degree (ideally specializing in communications/media)
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work with executives, talent and talent reps at all levels
- Exceptional writing, editing and oral communication skills
- Organized, self-motivated, creative thinker, detailed oriented and passion for film and knowledge of international marketplace

This position's anticipated annual base salary is $65,000-$80,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or benefits for which an individual may be eligible. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and from which they will be performing the job.
