'Sharp Stick' Opens This Weekend

Dunham’s first feature since her 2010 breakout Tiny Furniture centers on Sarah Jo (Kristine Froseth), Sharp Stick tells the story of Sarah Jo (Kristine Froseth), a sensitive and naive 26-year-old living on the fringes of Hollywood with her disillusioned mother (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and influencer sister (Taylour Paige). Working as a caregiver and just longing to be seen, she begins an exploratory affair with her older, married employer (Jon Bernthal), and is thrust into a startling education on sexuality, loss and power. Dunham, Luka Sabbat, Tommy Dorfman and Scott Speedman also star.

Sharp Stick will expand nationwide on August 5th before arriving on digital platforms on the 16th. The film also stars Luka Sabbat, Scott Speedman, Dunham and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. It was produced by Dunham, Michael P. Cohen, Kevin Turen and Katia Washington, with Paige and Bernthal exec producing alongside Glen Basner, Ben Browning, Will Greenfield and Kenneth Yu. Harrison Kreiss served as co-EP, with Soham Joglekar as associate producer.
