October 22, 2025

Following its acclaimed World Premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, Adam Carter Rehmeier’s Carolina Caroline has been acquired by Magnolia Pictures for North American distribution. FilmNation Entertainment represents the film for international sales.

The romantic crime thriller stars Samara Weaving (Ready or Not, Hollywood) as Caroline Daniels, a young woman desperate to escape her small Texas town. Her life takes a dangerous and intoxicating turn when she meets a charismatic con man, played by Kyle Gallner (Dinner in America, Smile). Together, the pair embark on a high-stakes crime spree that winds through the American South, blending passion, danger, and defiance in equal measure.

The film is written by Tom Dean and features supporting performances from Kyra Sedgwick and Jason Isbell, alongside a rich country music soundtrack that includes songs by Chris Stapleton, Loretta Lynn, and others. Original music is composed by Chris Bear of Grizzly Bear.

Produced by Trevor and Tim White of Star Thrower Entertainment, Stephen Braun of Bee-Hive Productions, Eric B. Fleischman and Chris Abernathy of The Wonder Company, and Chris Ward of Create & Complete, Carolina Caroline is a vibrant and kinetic exploration of love and lawlessness. Executive producers include Tom Dean, Adam Carter Rehmeier, Jan and Jack McAdoo, Leslie Braun, Ross Putman, Laena Carroll, Brittany Kahan, and Trent Hubbard. MacPac Entertainment and FilmNation also produced.

Magnolia Pictures will release the film theatrically in 2026.

Director Adam Carter Rehmeier—whose previous films include Dinner in America and Snack Shack—praised his cast’s chemistry:

“For me, chemistry is everything in a romance—and Samara and Kyle’s performances are nothing short of electric. Their crime spree across the American South demands to be seen on the biggest screen possible.”
