FilmNation's Bunker to World Premiere in Competition at the 2026 Venice International Film Festival

The 83rd edition of the Venice International Film Festival will take place September 2–12 on the Lido, bringing together many of the world's most anticipated new films. As one of cinema's most prestigious festivals, Venice has long served as a launching pad for acclaimed international filmmakers and awards season contenders.
Bunker will make its World Premiere in competition for the festival's coveted Golden Lion, joining a distinguished lineup of films from celebrated directors including Danny Boyle, Werner Herzog, Hirokazu Kore-eda, Martin McDonagh, Lee Chang-dong, Casey Affleck, and Nanni Moretti.
Directed by Florian Zeller, whose previous films The Father and The Son earned widespread critical acclaim, Bunker stars Academy Award winners Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem in a gripping end-times drama.
The film's selection in Venice's Main Competition underscores FilmNation's continued commitment to championing bold, filmmaker-driven storytelling on the global stage.
